Farm Euro at the End of 2024: Our Story, Progress, and Future Plans

As we wrap up 2024, we reflect on our journey from humble beginnings to our achievements today. Farm Euro is more than just a place where milk and natural products are made—it’s the result of hard work, learning, and dedication to a simple mission: producing high-quality, safe, and healthy food while building trust within our community.

Though we are still a young farm, we are proud of the strides we’ve made and our commitment to continuous growth. This article provides a complete overview of our story—from our beginnings in 2021, through the challenges and successes of 2024, to our ambitious plans for 2025.

From Humble Beginnings to Serious Production

Our story began in 2021, with our first steps in cattle fattening. This was the foundation of our vision: to create a farm that would set standards in agriculture and food production in Bosnia and Herzegovina. By 2022, we strategically shifted to dairy farming, importing 64 pregnant heifers of Austrian Simmental and later 33 German Simmental heifers, forming a herd of 97 cows—the cornerstone of our raw milk production.

From then on, every aspect of our operations focused on quality—from feeding and animal health to rigorous hygiene standards and investments in modern equipment. Today, we are proud that our milk meets the “extra class” standards set by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture.

Building Our Foundations Since 2021

Our journey began with the import of 64 Austrian Simmental heifers, followed by 33 German Simmental heifers. This foundational herd laid the groundwork for our raw milk production.

Early Challenges and Learning

The initial years were full of challenges. We had to:

  • Adapt the herd to a new environment.
  • Implement strict standards aligned with our vision.
  • Overcome difficulties in building a capable and dedicated team.

Despite these challenges, we succeeded in:

  • Ensuring quality feeding for the herd with corn silage grown on our own fields.
  • Establishing high hygiene standards from milking to storage.
  • Assembling a team of experts dedicated to daily animal care and process monitoring.
Dairy Farming: The Heart of Our Operations

Raw milk production has always been our primary focus, and that will not change. We understand that milk quality requires attention, dedication, and daily effort.

Extra-Class Milk: Our Pride

In 2024, we maintained our “extra class” milk status, meeting the highest quality standards through:

  • Strict Hygiene Practices: Daily disinfection of equipment, barns, and udders ensures animal health and milk safety.
  • Regular Testing: Bi-monthly lab analyses confirm consistent quality.
  • Tailored Nutrition: Our cows are fed natural, GMO-free feed without antibiotics or growth promoters.
Animal Health: The Core of Our Philosophy

Healthy cows produce healthy milk. That philosophy guides everything we do, including:

  • Veterinary Monitoring: Regular health check-ups and disease testing in partnership with Vitez Veterinary Station.
  • Preventive Treatments: Routine antiparasitic treatments and vaccinations to ensure optimal conditions for our herd.
Natural Jams and Juices: Exploring New Fields

In 2024, we ventured into producing natural jams and juices, testing the market and learning from customer feedback.

Testing and Feedback

Though not yet formally on the market, our jams and juices have been showcased at fairs across Bosnia and Herzegovina. Feedback from hundreds of people has been overwhelmingly positive:

  • Authentic Taste: Fresh and natural fruit flavors that stand out.
  • No Industrial Sugar: Made with only natural fruit sugars, offering a healthier choice.
  • Traditional Recipes: Blending generational methods with modern nutritional preservation techniques.
Focus for the Future

In 2025, we plan to officially launch our jam and juice line, using seasonal local fruits and eco-friendly packaging to preserve product quality.

Cheese Production: A Major Investment

One of our most significant projects in 2024 was constructing our cheese production facility, which is nearing completion.

  • Construction Progress: The facility is in the final stages, with equipment being installed to start production in Q1 2025.
  • High Standards: All production stages will comply with HACCP and halal standards to ensure quality and safety.

Cheese production will play a vital role in our future strategy, focusing on high-quality cheeses that blend traditional methods with modern standards.

Honey: New Horizons

Though we have not yet begun honey production, we explored this potential in 2024. Honey aligns perfectly with our values, and we plan to take initial steps in this field in the coming years.

Certifications and Standards: Proof of Our Efforts

Our certifications are not just formalities; they are a testament to our hard work and commitment:

  • HACCP System: Guaranteeing safety at every production stage.
  • Halal Certification: Ensuring compliance with Islamic standards.
  • Verified Hygiene Management: Recognizing our consistent application of hygiene standards.
Our Vision for 2025

Looking ahead, our goals are clear:

  • Launching cheese production in Q1 2025.
  • Introducing jams and juices to the domestic market.
  • Developing beekeeping and exploring honey production.
  • Advancing sustainable practices, including renewable energy use.
Conclusion

Farm Euro is on a journey of growth. While we are not perfect, we are dedicated and strive to improve every day. Our story is far from over; it is written daily through our work, learning, and connections with our community.

Thank you for being part of our journey. We eagerly look forward to what 2025 has in store.
